Infrastructure

Our Approach

Infrastructure projects depend on reliable electrical systems to support safe operation across bridges, roadways, and utility corridors. Our teams deliver integrated power, lighting, and control solutions that keep transportation networks efficient and essential services uninterrupted.

Start to Finish

Whatever the job requires, we can handle every facet from start to finish.

Comprehensive Portfolio

Our work is comprehensive, ranging from pedestrian bridges, police training facilities, and fire stations to parking amenities, libraries, and even fountains.

History of Experience

Since 1974, Mark One Electric has provided advanced electrical knowledge, experience, and service to general contractors, developers, facility managers, and business owners across the Midwest region.

WBE Contractor

The largest electrical WBE contractor in Kansas City, certified by WBENC, NWBOC, and the State of Missouri.

Bob Kerry Pedestrian Bridge - Omaha

Featured Projects

This stunning 3,000‑foot pedestrian walkway spans the Missouri River, connecting Omaha, Nebraska, with Council Bluffs, Iowa, offering visitors sweeping views of the Omaha skyline and access to more than 150 miles of nature trails on the Iowa side.

Mark One served as the primary electrical contractor for this project, providing power to the bridge and installing the lighting system. The bridge features programmable LED lighting, including large color‑changing fixtures at the tops of the towers and adjustable lighting along the entire length of the walkway. Each bridge section was built and pre‑wired on the ground before being lifted into place over the river.

Kansas City Street Car

Featured Projects

The KC Streetcar is a free, easy-to-use way to explore Kansas City. Running daily along Main Street from the River Market to the Country Club Plaza. It connects riders to downtown neighborhoods, Union Station, Crown Center, CPKC Stadium, and other popular destinations.

Mark One played a key role in constructing both the original streetcar line and its recent extensions. Our work included utility relocations, utility installations, and installation of wireless data services along the original route.  Additionally, we installed new fiber‑optic cabling with full integration into the existing network for the extensions. Mark One also coordinated work on public and private property, implemented traffic control measures, and restored impacted sidewalks, curbs, and roadways.

Underground Utilities

Utility providers have increasingly recognized the long-term advantages of underground infrastructure. By placing critical services such as electrical and telecommunication cables below the surface, utilities are better protected from weather-related damage, vandalism, and intentional tampering, making them more reliable and resilient over time.

For more than 40 years, Mark One Electric has partnered with utility providers across the Kansas City region to build the underground infrastructure that connects our communities. From installing ductbanks and manholes to constructing complex underground utility systems, our teams have successfully completed hundreds of projects and placed hundreds of miles of infrastructure below ground. Our work has crossed some of the region’s most challenging environments—beneath major highways, under active railroad corridors, and even below a river. With decades of experience and a proven track record, Mark One Electric continues to deliver the critical utility networks that serve our region.

Roadway Lighting and Streetscapes

Roadway lighting plays a vital role in creating safe and efficient transportation networks. By improving visibility for drivers, pedestrians, and cyclists, properly designed lighting systems help reduce accidents, enhance wayfinding, and increase public safety after dark.

For decades, Mark One Electric has provided the expertise needed to install and maintain roadway lighting systems that keep the Kansas City region moving safely day and night.

Bartle Hall Highway Lighting

Known for its iconic art deco-inspired pylons, Bartle Hall sits over the intersection of two major highways, offering nearly 400,000 square feet of flexible, column-free exhibit space in the heart of downtown Kansas City.

In addition to recently upgraded exterior and pylon lighting, Mark One installed more than 1,800 energy‑efficient LED fixtures to enhance visibility and safety, delivering modern illumination for this heavily traveled area. Mark One self‑performed all electrical systems, lighting controls, subgrade preparation, concrete work, and structural steel installation, completing the project four months ahead of schedule with a flawless safety record and zero incidents.
